The War

War is no respecter of persons. It cares not how much, or how little, wealth or standing you posses. No matter how oft you declare your neutrality, how fervently you claim no quarrel, war will find you. You must choose a side. There are only two, and both are actively recruiting. There is the Light, the collection and embodiment of all that is good and beautiful; yet it is also discipline and duty, selflessness and service. Then there is the Stain, that sordid concoction that seeks to pollute all and spread its filth everywhere. Its soldiers are unruly and cruel, with no thought but for themselves.
There is no middle ground. The earth is not a test; it is a battlefield. There will be no retake, and it is not just your soul that is at stake, but those of all you love.
